Dida returns to Brazil

First Published: Sep 28, 2001

AC Milan have confirmed the loan of Brazilian goalkeeper Dida back to Sao Paolo club Corinthians.

Dida joined Milan nearly two years ago but has never been a regular for the club. He was blamed by then coach Alberto Zaccheroni for mistakes in last season's Champions League - notably throwing the ball into his own net against Leeds United - and then saw his career in Italy overtaken by the fake passport scandal.

The player is now on loan to June 30th with the Brazilian club and has retained his place in the Brazilian national team under the last four coaches.
