Bayer Leverkusen are waiting until tomorrow to rule play maker Michael Ballack out of the Champions League semi final decider against Manchester United.
"He suffered a foot injury on Saturday against Nurnburg and is very doubtful for the match," said Bayer coach Klaus Toppmoller today.
"We will only know on Tuesday whether or not he can play, but on Sunday he was in a lot of pain."
The 25 year old scored an equaliser last week as Bayer drew 2-2 at Old Trafford in the semi final first leg last week.
The two away goals scored by the Bundesliga title contenders give them an advantage but United are far from out of contention to reach the May 15th final in Glasgow.
Successive league defeats have seen Bayer blow two chances to secure their first ever Bundesliga title and United will hope to play on that fragility.
