Radebe back for South Africa

South Africa have named a 31-man squad to prepare for the World Cup finals with coach Jomo Sono bringing back former captain Lucas Radebe.

The Leeds United defender has recently returned from a long injury break and is now a contender for the final squad of 23 which must be finalised by May 21s.

The South Africa squad meet next week for training ahead of the finals.

The squad in full -

Goalkeepers - Andre Arendse (Santos), Emille Baron (Lillestrom), Calvin Marlin (Ajax Cape Town) and Hans Vonk (Heerenveen).

Defenders - Matthew Booth and Jethro Mohlala (both Mamelodi Sundowns), Bradley Carnell (VfB Stuttgart), Mark Fish (Charlton Athletic), Pierre Issa (Watford), Jacob Lekgetho (Lokomotiv Moscow), Mbulelo Mabizela (Orlando Pirates), Aaron Mokoena (Germinal), Thabang Molefe (Jomo Cosmos), Cyril Nzama (Kaizer Chiefs) and Lucas Radebe (Leeds United).

Midfielders - Delron Buckley (VfL Bochum), Quinton Fortune (Manchester Uunited), Thabo Mngomeni (Pirates), Bennett Mnguni (Lokomotiv Moscow), Tebogo Mokoena (St Gallen), MacDonald Mukansi (Lokomotiv Sofia), Steven Pienaar (Ajax Amsterdam), Jabu Pule (Kaizer Chiefs), McBeth Sibaya (Jomo Cosmos) and Sibusiso Zuma (FC Copenhagen).
