Japan coach Philippe Troussier is looking to coach in England next season despite an offer to join Perugia.
Troussier tells Belgian newspaper 'La Derniere Heure' that he is to leave his post with Japan after the World Cup finals and is looking to secure a club for next term.
"I am not going to extend my contract. The mission in Asia that I have accepted takes a lot of energy and personal motivation. I believe I'm no longer keen to try my hardest in that position."
"At the moment I have two alternatives. I can remain a national team coach. Vietnam, Canada, the US and Luxembourg are certain to make an offer."
"The other alternative is to follow in the steps of Arsene Wenger whose hair turns grayer day by day."
"If I could choose between European teams I would prefer to take over an English team even if it's a second division side. I'm not interested in coaching a French side. I am a French coach but I hope people would forget about that."
Troussier took charge of Japan in 1998 after leading South Africa at the World Cup finals in France.
He was recommended for the Japan job by Arsene Wenger after the Japanese FA offered their World Cup job to the Arsenal boss.
