Villa and Newcastle chase Recber

Turkish international goalkeeper Rustu Recber is wanted in the Premiership.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa have sent scouts along to watch the goalkeeper at recent Fenerbahce games and hope to seal his transfer before the World Cup finals.

Recber is 28 and played for Turkey at the 1996 European Championships. He joined Fenerbahce six years ago and has won two Turkish titles with the Istanbul club who rate Recber at around £2.5 million.
