Everton are close to signing Swedish international Tobias Linderoth from Norwegian club Stabeak.
The Premiership side have been trying to sign Linderoth for the past six weeks and have now agreed a £2.5 million transfer fee for the player.
Stabaek general manager Tom Scolelvrn has confirmed a deal with Everton has been reached: "We haven't signed the papers yet. He still has to take his medical but I think he is taking it at this moment.
"The clubs have an agreement and so does the player. Everything is okay. For the moment we are getting £2.5 million and we can get more money depending on appearances."
Stabaek stand to make an extra £750,000 if Linderoth makes 40 appearances for Everon in the next two years.
