Vieri set to miss England date tonight

Inter striker Christian Vieri may miss tonight's friendly against England.

The striker has complained after training this week in Leeds ahead of the friendly of sore legs and AS Roma forward Marco Delvecchio could replace.

"I don't want to risk it. I have to think of the World Cup and the title and I can't play when I feel pain," Vieri said.

Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni has brought under-21 forward Massimo Maccarone into his squad after he scored last night in his side's 1-1 draw with England but he will only get action if Trapattoni experiences injury set backs during the friendly at Elland Road.
