Fulham keen to rescue Bierhoff from Monaco

Fulham are again interested in taking German veteran Oliver Bierhoff after the player confirmed he was to leave AS Monaco after one season.

Bierhoff tells 'L'Equipe' that his loan deal will not be extended and he is returning to AC Milan to be sold.

The centre forward says a frosty relationship with Monaco coach Marcel Deschamps is to blame.

"I cannot stay here any longer and want the season to end so I can leave," he says with Fulham prepared to revive their plan of last season to sign Bierhoff although a return to Germany or a move to the MLS could be an option for the former Germany captain.
