Tunisia confirm World Cup coaching team

First Published: Mar 31, 2002

Tunisia have confirmed coaches Ammar Souyah and Khemaies Laabidi as their technical staff for the World Cup finals.

The North Africans saw French coach Henri Michel resign last week after the appointment of the two local coaches to work alongside him in a move he had not approved.

Tunisia had been in talks to bring back former Italian coach Franco Scoglio for the Japan and South Korea tournament in May and June but it now looks unlikely that Scoglio will return to the job he was sacked from in 2000.

Tunisia play host Japan, Belgium and Russia in Group H at the World Cup finals with Souyah and Laabidi no under contract until after the competition.
