2002 World Cup - Belgium 0 Croatia 0

First Published: Sep 03, 2000

Belgium failed to gain three points in their opening match in the Group F in Brussels.

Despite both sides displaying some good football the attacking strength of each was not good enough at all. Only Emile M'peza gave some problems to the Croatian defence, but goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa was inspired enough to keep him away from scoring.

Croatia's best chance came near the end of the match when Davor Suker got a good shot, but Geert De Vlieger made a great job to stop the ball.
