Rudi Voller proved again that Euro 2000 is forgotten already and his German team beat Greece in World Cup qualifying Group 9 match in Hamburg.

Hertha Berlin midfielder Sebastian Deisler scored the opener with a 17 metres shot after a headed pass from Marco Bode.

However, luck was on Germany's side as Vasilis Tsartas' incredible 25 metres shot hit the post just 5 minutes later and finally defender Marino Ouzonidis deflected a shot from Mehmet Scholl into his own goal five minutes before the end of the match.
