2002 World Cup - Uzbekistan 1 Turkmenistan 1

Uzbekistan recorded their second World Cup qualifying win with a 1-0 beating of Turkmenistan in Tashkent.

Midfielder Mirjalol Kasymov curved in a dipping 20 metre free kick low into the corner of the net after 63 minutes to win the game.

The Uzbeks beat Taiwan 7-0 on Monday in group seven and the Taiwanese lost 2-0 to Jordan earlier today.

On Friday Jordan meet Uzbekistan while Turkmenistan face Taiwan an then all four teams travel to the Jordanian capital of Amman for the conclusion of the group next week with one team to qualify.
