A 70th minute goal from Josh Wolff saw the US make it three wins from three matches in the final CONCACAF World Cup qualifying round.

The US lead second place Costa Rica by five points after beating them 1-0 in Kansas City.

Clint Mathis headed on a high ball from Jeff Agoos and Wolff steered the ball in in from close range. Wolff had a shot cleared off the line by Reynaldo Parks in the 16th minute and the home team dominated this game.
