First Published: Feb 11, 2001

Saudi Arabia saw two goals from Talal Al Meshal help them to a convincing 3-0 win over Bangladesh.

Al Meshal scored his first goal of the game in the 10th minute with a conversion from a cross before Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sami Al Jaber came on as a substitute and added a second goal in the 63rd minute with a shot on the turn.

An 88th minute drive from Al Meshal added gloss to the scoreline and gives coach Nassr Al Johar a two point lead at the top of Group 10 of the Asia qualifying zone after two of the six matches.

Vietnam needed a last minute penalty to defeat Mongolia.

Their captain Nguyen Hong Son handed new Brazilian coach Dido his first win in a dour defensive struggle for Mongolia playing their first World Cup match after joining FIFA in 1998.
