2002 World Cup - Saudi Arabia 6 Bangladesh 0

First Published: Feb 17, 2001

6-0 is becoming a World Cup habit for Saudi Arabia as they sealed their place in the next qualifying round.

The Saudis produced their third 6-0 win in a row and have not hit 18 goals without reply in a little over a week.

Bangladesh were the victims this time and with one game to go Saudi have won group 10.

They now join Iran in the next stage.

It was too easy for the side whose coach Nasr Al Johar is going to stand down after the next match to be replaced by Yugoslav Slobodan Santrac.

Santrac has something to live up to but Saudi hammered weak opposition all week in Group 10 and Bangladesh were quick to struggle with Talal Al Meshal scoring a hat trick with two goals from Obeid Al Dossary and a single effort from Mohsein Al Harthi.

Earlier Vietnam beat Mongolia 4-0 in Riyadh with two goals each from . Nguyen Luong Pac and Nguyen Hong Son.
