Argentina were exceptional in a 2-1 win in Rome against an Italy team who took the lead.
Stefano Fiore put Italy in front with less than 20,000 fans in the Stadio Olympico to see the game.
Fiore will have the Olympico as his home ground next season when he moves from Udinese to SS Lazio and he scored with a low drive but Kily Gonzales levelled in the 36th minute with a fantastic finish into the top right hand corner.
This was the first meeting between the two countries since a Naples 1990 World Cup semi final penalty shoot out win for the South American team.
Hernan Crespo scored the winner in the 49th minute from close range while Juan Sorin hit an upright with a first half header. Crespo scored again in the 87th minute but his shot was disallowed by French referee Alain Sars for no obvious reason. Crespo was particularly impressive throughout and had four good chances to add to the score for Argentina.
