Kirin Cup - Japan 1 Yugoslavia 0

First Published: Jul 04, 2001

Japan won the Kirin Cup with a Junichi Inamoto goal to beat Yugoslavia in Oita.

Arsenal transfer target Inamoto was put in with a shooting chance in the 24th minute by Atsushi Yanagisawa and then launched a high right foot shot into the top corner of the net from outside the penalty area.

Yanagisawa then set up Takayuki Suzuki for a shot against the post in the 67th minute as Yugoslavia did little to press forward in veteran Dragan Stojkovic's 85th and last game for the international side.
