AS Roma top scorer Gabriel Batistuta has told Argentinian radio that he wants to end his career at Boca Juniors.

Batistuta was the club's record signing last year at £22 million and his 20 goals helped Roma to their first championship in 18 years.

The goal scoring legend has a contract with Roma to 2004 and says that after it is over he would like to play again in Argentina.

Fiorentina signed the young Batistuta from Boca in 1991 and the player says he wants to retire from the Argentina national team after the next World Cup finals which Marcelo Bielsa's team is close to qualifying for.

A knee injury has restricted his appreances for Argentina lately but he is his country's record goal scorer. He has also played for Newell's Old Boys and River Plate in his career before the move to Boca.
