2002 World Cup - Oman 2 Syria 0

Oman have reached the second stage of qualifying in the Asian zone for the 2002 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Syria in Muscat.

Midfielder Taqi Mubarak scored from close range after a cross was allowed to drift across the face of goal in the 43rd minute and substitute Majdi Shaaban headed in a cross in the 67th minute to seal the win.
