World Cup qualifiers Senegal narrowly defeated their co-hosts next summer South Korea in Jeonju.

The opening of the Jeonju stadium for 40,000 home fans was spoilt by a hard-running display from a powerful Senegal side.

The visitors dominated from the start and went ahead in the 44th minute when Pape Diop followed up a fluffed overhead kick from El Hadji Diouf that dropped in front of goal invitingly to be crashed into the net.

Guus Hiddink's team were then booed from the pitch at half-time and in the second half they produced only one effort on target when substitute Sel Ki Hyeon forced a save from Tony Sylva in the Senegal goal on 68 minutes.
