Denmark halted Bulgaria's hopes of clinching World Cup qualification tonight in Sofia with two goals from Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Bulgaria have dropped from the top of group three to third but failed to make the most of their possession in the first half.
This allowed the visitors to take charge and they did so only two minutes after the break when the burly forward stretched out to meet a low cross and steer it past goalkeeper Zdravko Zdravkov.
Dimitar Berbatov hit the post with a swerving drive in the 78th minute but Tomasson sealed the win deep into injury time when he was left one-on-one with Zdravkov to drive low into the net.
