Portugal came from behind to beat Cyprus and knock Holland out of the World Cup.

Although the Dutch were winning heavily against Estonia tonight it was irrelevant as Portugal went top of group two and both they and the Irish Republic are certain to progress with the automatic qualifying place still to be decided.

Portugal ended the first half trailing to a Michalis Konstantinou 23rd minute drive but it only took them three minutes of the second half to get back on level terms.

Nuno Gomes scored from close range and Pauleta hit a shot on the run to put Portugal into a lead they were not going to give up with a powerful second half display.

Conceicao added the third with a cross show in the 70th minute.
