China are now only one win away from the 2002 World Cup finals.

Bora Milutinovic's side took the lead on the hour mark when Wu Chengying crossed from a corner for defender Li Weifeng to head in and in the 75th minute a free kick from just outside the penalty area by Fan Zhiyi curled into the net.

China have now asserted their control over Group B in the Asian qualifiers and now lead the second placed Ubeks by four points with one team to go through to the finals automatically.
