Spain powered in four second half goals to emphasise the gap in class between the sides.

The Northern Irish fielded only player frrom England's Premiership with Spain coach Jose Camacho choosing his stars from Madrid and Valencia who are challenging for the Spanish championship.

But it took the visitors 24 minutes to score when de Pedro had a corner flicked into the path of Raul on the goal line to bundle the ball in.

Ruben Baraja set the tone for the second half when he scored with a shot on the turn in the 47th minute and seven minutes later Raul hit a great second goal.

He cut inside on his left foot and curled in a shot past substitute goalkeeper Roy Carroll.

Carles Puyol was on hand to turn in a 76th minute chance which came after Carroll spilled an Ivan Helguera header into his path and Morientes ended a fine sweeping move to pass the bal into the net in the 80th minute.
