Portugal 1 Brazil 1

Brazil fielded Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo to give coach Luiz Felipe Scolari a Lisbon draw.

Ronaldo was used as the main striker with the other two switching places behind him but Brazil still needed a late penalty to draw a scrappy game.

Portugal had gone 1-0 up in the 60th minute and by then Ronaldo had been replaced by Sao Paulo striker Franca.

Rivaldo lasted for an hour after protests from FC Barcelona that he was unfit due to a knee injury but his mobility seemed alright.

Ronaldo made Portugal goalkeeper Ricardo save with an early shot and hit a Rivaldo cross wide of the target in the 43rd minute in his only two chances of a bright performance.

But it was Luis Figo who broke the deadlock by angling a pass into Conceicao's run for a driven finish by the Inter wide man

Brazil equalised when Edilson was fouled by Rui Jorge and PSG's Ronaldinho clipped in.
