Turkey were missing Hakan Sukur from their attack but almost took a first half lead with a low drive from Ilhan.
Ecuador had a goal ruled out in the 29th minute for offside against Kleber Chalawith Ecuador goalkeeper Jose Cevallos then saving well from shots by Hakan Unsal and a swerving freekick by Nihat.
Chala provided the driven cross for Tenorio to head the winning goal.
Aftre the game Ecuador striker Delgado confirmed he was looking to leave Premiership side Southampton after just three months at the club.
