Rudi Voller's Germany side gave Israel a generous goal start in Kaiserslautern but then wrecked their defence with three goals from 'Lautern star Miroslav Klose.

Germany failed to score in the first half but Idan Tal gave the Israelis the lead in the 27th minute of their first visit to Germany when his rising shot came back off the crossbar and back into the net off the back of goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.

But it took only four minutes of the second session for Klose to find his first goal when he ran onto a pass from Carsten Jancker to drive the ball past Israeli goalkeeper Dudu Awat who was the spend the rest of the half back-peddling.

Klose converted a cross from Mehmet Scholl in the 51st minute with Dietmar Hamann blasting the third from long range before Klose struck in a cross by Thomas Linke to register his hat-trick.

Substitute Oliver Bierhoff headed in on 69 minutes and Gerald Asamoah hit the sixth from close range before Lars Ricken ended Israel's misery in the 77th minute.
