Poland got their World Cup year underway by hitting four goals past Northern Ireland in a Limassol friendly.

Pawel Kryszalowicz hit in a shot off the post att he start of the game and five minutes later Radoslaw Kaluzny was put clear to run onto a high pass and finish.

Irish midfielder Steve Lomas pulled a goal back when he headed in a cross from Keith Gillepsie but Poland responded in the second half with low drives from Pawel Kryszalowicz on the rebound after his first shot was saved and Marcin Zewlakow reached a Jacek Krzynowek cross.
