Senegal started their African Nations Cup campaign with a win over a determined Egypt side.
The France-dominated Senegal side has drawn a score of European scouts to Mali to watch their players but they found it difficult to get past Egyptian defenders.
They needed an 82nd minute winner from Lamine Diatta to break the deadlock when he reacted first as goalkeeper Essam al-Hadary punched away punched away a corner only to see it drift off Diatta's head and loop over him into the net.
