The US moved into the last eight of the Gold Cup with a comfortable win over Cuba in Pasadena.
Brian McBride converted a 21st minute penalty after a Mario Rodriguez' foul on DeMarcus Beasley to win the game and secure Bruce Arena's team at the top of Group B. The US then went on to dominate the game without finding the target again.
The US will face either Guatemala or El Salvador in the next round while the Cubans need to defeat South Korea to reach the next stage of the tournament.
