US striker Brian McBride scored three goals to help the US into the Gold Cup semi finals.

Their 4-0 win over Ecuador carried the US through to meet holders Canada in the Wednesday semi at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

South Korea meet Costa Rica in the other game to find next weekend's finalists.

Close range finishes in the ninth and 11th minute for McBride effectively win the game for the US and the striker completed his hat-trick with a low drive in the 21st minute.

Ante Razov scored the only goal of the second half in the 71st minute.
