Argentina conceded a late equaliser to draw with Cameroon.
Patrick Suffo - sacked two weeks ago by Sheffield United - scored the equalising goal in the 85th minute with a header which capped a long spell of pressure from the Cameroon side and Rigobert Song came close with another header from a corner late on but German Burgos tipped the effort over the bar.
After Claudio Caniggia had almost won a penalty kick for a trip by Samuel Eto'o and Marc-Vivien Foe had hit the crossbar with a header, Pablo Aimar was cut down in the penalty box by Raymond Kalla to concede a spot kick which Juan Sebastian Veron converted.
Eto'o made amends in the 20th minute with a close range finish with a header from a Geremi cross to the back post.
Caniggia set up Aimar from the right wing to hit a low finish and the same player scored from a cross with 18 minutes to go but Cameroon were unlucky with two Geremi shots hitting the frame of the goal as the African champions took control of the game and looked a better bet for progress in June than the South Americans.
