Saudi Arabia edged a 3-2 win over Senegal to continue their decent progress to the World Cup finals.
A great free kick on the hour from midfielder Al Hassan Al-Yami which curled high into the top corner proved to be the winner at the King Fahd Stadium but Senegal contributed much to the game and came back twice to score after the Saudis had taken the lead.
Veteran striker Sami Al-Jaber scored with an eigth minute penalty after Aliou Cisse had clipped Al-Yami on a run to fell the attacker.
Souleymane Camara got the last touch on a shot by defender Ferdinand Coly to equalise from a deflection in the 44th minute but Saudi responded two mintes after the restart when a powerful drive from Ibrahim Suwaid hit the target.
Senegal responded three minutes later when African Player of the Year El-Hadji Diouf converted a penalty after a handball offence by Abdallah Suleiman.
