Ljungberg losing England fitness battle

Sweden star Fredrik Ljungberg limped out of training nursing his sore hip and is a doubt to face England in their opening game at Saitama on Sunday.

The wide player lasted just seconds of the Swedish training session today after he yesterday played down the extent of an injury which could see him forced out of Sunday's clash.

Ljungberg was led away for more treatment after a few paces of a run and faces a final assessment of his fitness tomorrow.
