the last major league in Europe is still on. With 2 games left the title and spots in the CL and UEFA Cup are still up for grabs.The Basque club Real Sociedad who have not won the title in 20 years are leading R. Madrid by 1 point at the top of the table. Today they play a tough away game at Celta Vigo who themselves lead Valencia by 1 point for the last CL spot. R. Madrid play in the derby at Atletico Madrid who can decide the title race (they play Sociedad next week). Valencia host Barcelona who are struggling against Bilbao who lead them by 2 points for the last UEFA Cup spot. Barca are the only team to have played in European Cup play *every* year since it was founded. They are so determined to continue the record that they have already signed up for the Intertoto....Of course a Barca win today and a Bilbao loss at La Coruna gives Barca the inside track on the UEFA Cup spot without need for the Intertoto. Sevilia is also in the UEFA Cup chase.
