First. I'm sorry about the Malvenas Islands stuff, if you lost family. It was not intended that way. And I WAS singing that tune this morning as stress relief for myself in the office. Only as humor.
Second, it was a great game full of action. Tonite Brasil was Brasil again and it was wonderful to watch the rebirth. If big Ronald makes a full recovery, there should be a spot for him on this team. But several players had outstanding games, especially Antonio Carlos for the defense, Evanilson showing the speed, Dida in goal.
Back to basics: give Roberto Carlos the free kicks but have at least two guys following the shot. The trickery stuff isn't fooling ANYBODY. RC's big boot could easily have been converted to a score with a Bebeto or an Alex charging in after to toss in the rebound. Go with power and skill. It's better than tricks. Love him or hate him, RC gots the big foot on this team and he should get the freebies, case closed. Rc played up to his reputation tonite. Rivaldo was Rivaldo, which is simply great. The yellow card foul against him should have been a red. That was a wicked kick to the body, no where near the ball.
And the Argentine goal, the perfect off foot lead from Crespo to the Argentine sub, Athaway or Alltheway or something, was the most beautifully executed goal I have seen in the year 2000.
