: : You are also into photography and journalism. You see my father is a big photo buff, I mean he has over $ 20, 000 invested in equipment. I think he even has 1 or 2 pre- WW2 Leicas. Its really neat going to the basement with him and developing some of his photographs, he is a real good artist, ( but unfortunately art doesnt make money all too often, so he is resigned to working in a factory where he works in quality control for Boeing aircraft ). My Dad also has a degree in journalism from Conestoga college up here or down here , ( depending on where it is exactly that you reside ) in Kitchener. He teaches part time at WLU university, ( real part time, more like guest talks ), because he also has 2 other degrees one in Theology and the other in Philosophy. Unfortunately Canadas wise governing has decided that ones degrees dont really count unless they have graduted from a Canadian institution, even though my father studied in Austria and various locations in Germany, ( wich last time I heard had some of the best philosophy and theology schools around ), oh well what are you going to do, rules are rules I guess> So I just find it interesting that you and my father have so many things in common. I on the other hand tried to follow his footsteps but dropped out in the second year of University, ( I met a girl, need I say more? ). I try to educate myself , but to be honest I now prefer to open a brew and watch the tele instead of curling up to a book, I am getting lazy. I have several part time like jobs and do many things under the table, like cleaning a church, ( thats a regular contract ), then there are other little things like painting jobs, waxing floors in banks, etc, etc. My passion is writting I still try to do some but find it gets harder and harder, especially the short stories and free verse, I seem to have lost some knack over the last years, perhaps because "needing" to make a living to "survive" and eat is now tops and foremost on my mind. I have a real problem though in going with the status that is expected, so in many ways I envy you, you seem to have something you are passionate about and you can make a living of off. Anyways in short Im not sure if you remember or have ever seen this show, Im kind of like Chris from the show Northern Exposure , ( I just wish my wife would let me have a Harley though ).
